for Town Council 2026

Our Village • Your Voice • Real Representation

When making impactful decisions we must address the questions ‘what’ and ‘how,’
but I believe it is vital to always continue asking ‘why.’

Born & Raised
in Snowmass Village

Britta’s journey has allowed for a depth of perspective in this part of our Valley that is hard to match. She believes in and has been working to support locals first,
caring for and maintaining connections with our vast and beautiful wilderness while encouraging us all to have a little more fun along our way.

Informed and experienced a Vote for Britta will rebalance the scales, keeping our resort from overshadowing our community- which remains the heart and home of this Village. She knows this Story- Britta helped co-creat the ‘Story of Snowmass’ wrote for our local papers for over 15 years, helped write our Comprehensive Plan, created the Thrive Snowmass Initiative and Committee, spearheaded and has put into action the Destination Management Plan.

She knows - from experience - how to walk the talk!

I bring to the table a lifetime of perspective and a genuine desire to steward for our future (with a conscientious eye on the past)so that this incredible place can continue to prosper with mindful guidance.

“Well done is better than well said.”
I’m running for reelection because Snowmass is at an important crossroads. We all love this place, but rising costs, housing pressures, development, and the changing resort economy are making it increasingly difficult for working people and families to remain here.

I didn’t come to local government through the traditional path. I came to it as a journalist who cut my teeth at the Snowmass Sun, listening to the people who make this community work. I saw that working-class residents and people living close to the edge of survival were often missing from the table. I knew that voice needed to be represented—and that representation required sacrifice and hard work.

During my time on Council, I initiated and advanced Thrive Snowmass, worked to form its committee, and pushed to secure funding for its initiatives. Thrive is an effort to realign the cost of living and quality of life for full-time, year-round residents, prevent displacement, and help our community thrive.

I also initiated and developed our Destination Management Plan, which we now use to guide tourism and marketing decisions.

I pushed for major increases to housing mitigation, helping lead Council to adopt Colorado’s first 100% employee-housing mitigation requirement for all new development.

I worked to move innovative wildfire modeling into action quickly,

signed Snowmass onto the Mountain Pact to protect public lands, increased the resident sales-tax rebate from $50 to $200, and pushed for the Town’s first overlayed construction map to improve transparency. I have also challenged our resort partners to be accountable to the community that supports their success and insisted on a moratorium on pesticide and herbicide spraying until potential hazards are better understood.

These efforts all come back to one central question:

Does this protect and improve the quality of life for the people who call Snowmass home?

That is the purpose of The Village We Love.

It is about protecting our community, supporting working families and small businesses, preserving our public lands, and ensuring that the benefits of our resort economy are shared more fairly.

Snowmass is now 96% built out. That means every housing project, every public investment, and every major decision must count. We need to make sure projects address our real needs, fit the context and character of Snowmass, and strengthen—not diminish—the community we love.

My campaign tagline is “Our Village. Your Voice. Real Representation.” I’m asking for your support so we can continue ensuring that every voice—especially the voices of working people and full-time, year-round residents—has a place at the table.

Thank you for believing in me, and thank you for believing in Snowmass.

For the Next

I have skin in the game

The woman is smiling and holding a chicken, while the children are kneeling nearby. In the background, there are animal enclosures, a trailer, and a few sheep resting on the ground.

Born and raised in Snowmass Village, Britta has called this town home all of her life.
Today she is ready to take on a more active role, to help in shaping our community in an effort to give back to Snowmass Village;
the place she has called home and the community in which she has been raised, and for which she is immensely grateful.

“Snowmass Village is more than just my home, it’s my passion. I believe we are all in pursuit of a similar happiness and fulfillment.
And these mountains and this town, along with the people who live here, are a constant motivation.
I can relate to what it takes to live here, the struggles, the culture of fun and intellect, and the outdoorsy lifestyle.
I plan to keep actively pursuing stewardship for our future, working to maintain an elevated experience for us all.
